We are pleased to inform you that we have received a communication from one of our partner organizations in Malaysia, International Science, Technology and Innovation Centre for South-South Cooperation under the Auspices of UNESCO (ISTIC), Kuala Lumpur with a call for applications for the Regional Workshop on Enhancing and Strengthening Regional Open Science Implementation Mechanism during 8 – 10 March 2023 at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia being organised jointly by ISTIC, UNESCO Jakarta and the Science Technology Engineering Innovation Policy Asia and the Pacific Network (STEPAN) in Hybrid Mode.

As part of the effort to further enhance and strengthen the regional Open Science implementation mechanism, UNESCO Jakarta together with the International Science, Technology and Innovation Centre for South-South Cooperation (ISTIC) under the auspices of UNESCO and the Science Technology Engineering Innovation Policy Asia and the Pacific Network (STEPAN) will be organizing a hybrid workshop on 8 – 10 March 2023 in Kuala-Lumpur to obtain regional feedback to enhance the common understanding of Open Science and the effectiveness of public policy and investment in this endeavour.
The workshop will bring together Open Science policy makers, practitioners, and stakeholders to discuss the effectiveness of public policy and investment to promote Open Science implementation mechanism and to promote the sharing of best knowledge management practices in addition to enhancing the regional and cross-border cooperation on Open Science and digital transition in the Asia-Pacific region. Please find enclosed the provisional concept note and agenda for your ready reference. The practical information will follow soon.
The workshop will be held in hybrid mode. However, we would be grateful if the experts could participate in-person in this workshop. Please note that attendance to the workshop is free but participants from international organizations are invited to cover their additional expenses, including transport and accommodation.
